Goodbye orange, Apple is preparing to change the highlight color of the iPhone 18 Pro to Dark Cherry.
New color information for the iPhone 18 Pro suggests a possible change in the highlight color from Cosmic Orange to Dark Cherry Red. Although the Cosmic Orange color of the iPhone 17 Pro was considered a sensation due to its resemblance to Hermès Orange, recent reports suggest that Apple may discontinue using this color on the iPhone 18 Pro to make way for the new Dark Cherry color.
According to the report, Dark Cherry is a deep, wine-red color, which is the opposite of the brighter Cosmic Orange, but Dark Cherry is more luxurious and sophisticated.
Apple plans to release four colors for the iPhone 18 Pro this year: Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Silver, and Dark Gray. This follows Apple's usual strategy of changing the signature color of its models each year to maintain freshness and boost sales among customers seeking a fashionable and unique look.
Analysts from international media view this decision as sound from a business perspective, as colors in the fashion world tend to be cyclical and change with trends. Maintaining the same color for too long might make the product appear bland or lack appeal to consumers who desire unique items for that particular year.
Besides the color changes, the new iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to have minor design adjustments, including a reduction in the size of the Dynamic Island and a smoother seam between the rear glass and the camera module.
